Mark Kingwell in his excellent book "The World We Want" - a history of citizenship - exhorts citizens to "take back some public space every week". Many are concerned with the continuing slump in voter turnout throughout the world, so much so that forward thinking cities and countries are working towards a strategy to reverse this alarming trend. London too could set a target for improving voter turnout say by 10% in the upcoming municipal election with a strategic approach to reach it.  Why not encourage people to care about what happens in the public domain, encourage people to exercise their vote.
